Philipp Koutny (born May 24, 1983 ) is a Swiss triathlete . He is Swiss champion triathlon middle distance (2014) and Ironman winner (2018). He is included in the list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

At the Swiss Championships in Locarno in September 2014, he was able to secure the title in the middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21 km running).

In August 2015, the then 32-year-old won the age group 30–34 in the middle distance at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Zell am See . At the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) he came second in the 30- to 34-year-old age group.

Philipp Koutny has been a professional athlete since 2016.

Winner Ironman 2018

In July 2018 he was sixth at Ironman Germany (Ironman European Championships). In August, the 35-year-old from Zurich won his first Ironman race with the Ironman Tallinn (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.2 km running) and he had a winning time of 8:01:18 hours in the best list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance in second place.
He qualified as the fourth Swiss male professional after Jan van Berkel , Ruedi Wild and Ronnie Schildknecht for a starting place at the Ironman World Championships on October 13th in Hawaii and finished 15th as the second best Swiss in 8:15:58 h .

In October 2019, the 36-year-old finished second at the Ironman Malaysia behind Spaniard Javier Gómez Noya .

In March 2020 he finished fourth at the Ironman New Zealand .
