Christoph Mauch (born March 29, 1971 in Sempach ) is a Swiss triathlete and two-time Ironman winner (2001 and 2005). He is included in the list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Christoph Mauch took part in his first triathlon in 1987 in Altenrhein .
In 1995 and 1998 he became Swiss champion in the short distance triathlon (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

In 1994 he became vice European champion in the middle distance. He achieved his greatest success with a fourth place each at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships) in 1998 and 1999 and with sixth place in 2002 at the ITU Long Distance World Championship.
In 2002 he was also Vice European Champion Winter Triathlon. He has not appeared internationally since 2009.

In March 2014 he became sports director of the national triathlon association Swiss Triathlon . He left the association at his own request after the Olympic Games in Rio at the end of October 2016.
Christoph Mauch teaches mathematics at the Beromünster Cantonal School .
