Career

Kenny Souza began his athletic career as a triathlete before moving to the duathlon. Swimming was his weakness, which earned him the nickname "Rockfish". In the 1980s and 1990s, Kenny Souza was known as the “most dazzling person” of the duathlon due to his effective advertising. During this time he was eight times American duathlon champion.

In 1999 he resigned as an athlete after a three-year ban, retroactive to 1998, had been imposed on him for starting without a valid license.

In the following years he worked as a representative for the sports nutrition manufacturer Clif Bar . Kenny Souza returned to duathlon in 2005 and has since participated in various long-distance and ultra-long distance sports events , such as the Race Across America (2006).
