Emilio Martín (born June 22, 1982 ) is a Spanish long-distance runner and duathlete . He is three-time duathlon national champion (2013, 2015, 2017), European champion (2017) and two-time world champion in the short distance duathlon (2012, 2015).

Career

In 2011 Emilio Martín started at the Duathlon World Championship for the first time and he finished 19th in Gijón behind his compatriot Roger Roca .

World Champion Duathlon 2012

In September 2012 Emilio Martín became Duathlon World Champion in France on the short distance (10 km running, 40 km cycling and 5 km running).

In July 2013, he became vice world champion in Colombia. In May 2014 he finished third at the World Cup in Spain.

World Champion Duathlon 2015

In April 2015 Emilio Martín became Vice-European Champion and in October in Australia after 2012 again ITU Duathlon World Champion.

In June 2016 in Spain he became vice world champion on the duathlon short distance.

European Champion Duathlon 2017

In April 2017, the then 35-year-old became Duathlon European Champion in Soria, Spain. In August he became vice world champion duathlon for the third time.

In June 2019, the 37-year-old became Vice European Champion Sprint Duathlon in Romania. He also finished second in the national sprint duathlon championship.

Emilio Martín lives with his partner in Huelva .
