Benoît Nicolas (born April 17, 1977 in Brest ) is a French duathlete . He is European champion (2011, 2015), multiple national champion (2012, 2013, 2014), duathlon European champion (2015) and two-time duathlon world champion (2014, 2017).

Career

Benoît Nicolas started his sporting career in athletics . In the 1500-meter run , he was the French runner-up in his age group for three consecutive years from 1999 to 2001. In 2004 he also won the French runner-up in cross-country skiing .

European Duathlon Champion 2011 and 2015

Benoît Nicolas became the 2011 European Duathlon Champion. In Parthenay he became Duathlon State Champion in 2012 and in 2013 he won the French Duathlon Championship again.

Duathlon world champion 2014

In May 2014 he became Duathlon World Champion in Spain after finishing third at the World Championships for three years in a row. In June, after his success in Fourmies in previous years, he became Duathlon State Champion for the third time in a row.
In Upper Austria, he became Vice European Champion in August.

In April 2015 Benoît Nicolas became Duathlon European Champion and in October ITU Vice World Champion Duathlon in Australia.

Duathlon world champion 2017

In Canada, the then 40-year-old was again duathlon world champion on the short distance in August 2017 after 2014. In 2019 he finished fifth at the European Sprint Duathlon Championships.
