Oscar Galíndez
Oscar Saúl Galíndez (born June 5, 1971 in Río Tercero ) is a former duathlete and triathlete from Argentina . He is Duathlon World Champion (1995) and three-time Ironman winner (2003, 2006 and 2007).
Career
Oscar Galíndez became Duathlon World Champion in Mexico in 1995. In 1995 he moved to Brazil and in May 1999 he became the South American triathlon champion.
In 2001 he started with triathlon training for the long distance. In May 2003 he won the Ironman Brasil and he was able to repeat this success in 2006 and 2007.
In 2007 he was runner-up in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Florida (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running). He has not appeared internationally since 2013.
His son Tomás Galíndez (* 1996) is also active as a triathlete and won the Ironman Mar del Plata in 2019 .
