Andreas (Andy) Sutz (born May 16, 1981 in Schaffhausen ) is a former Swiss duathlete and mountain and marathon runner . He is Powerman world champion on the long distance duathlon (2008), ETU European duathlon champion (2009), ITU world champion on the long distance duathlon (2010).

Career

The trained boat builder has been active as a duathlete since 1997. In 2003 Andy Sutz was third in the U23 Duathlon World Championship in Affoltern. In September 2007 he finished third with the Swiss team at the World Mountain Running Championships in Ovronnaz .

Powerman World Champion Duathlon Long Distance 2008

In 2008 he won the Powerman Zofingen in the elite class (professionals) in the duathlon .
In 2009 Andy Sutz also became European champion in the short distance duathlon in Budapest.

ITU world champion duathlon 2010

In September 2010 he became ITU world champion on the long-distance duathlon in Zofingen, after having become vice world champion here the previous year.

In September 2011 he was third in the Duathlon World Championship, which was again held as part of the Powerman Zofingen. In April 2013 he was third in the Duathlon European Championship in Holland.

The 35-year-old finished sixth at the Powerman Zofingen in September 2016 at the Duathlon long distance world championship. In 2017 he started again, but couldn't finish the race. He has not appeared internationally since 2017.

Andy Sutz lives in Schaffhausen .
