Ferdinand Friedrich Freiherr von Biedenfeld (born May 12, 1764 in Owen , † September 4, 1834 in Karlsruhe ) was a major general from Baden .

Life

Ferdinand Friedrich came from the Upper Hessian noble family von Biedenfeld . From 1806 to 1808 he was colonel of the "von Biedenfeld" garrison regiment and commandant of Freiburg im Breisgau , and later of Constance . He was interested in natural sciences and art and maintained contact with the painter Friedrich Mosbrugger and his friend, the architect Friedrich Eisenlohr . Eisenlohr was married to his daughter Wilhelmine (1801–1882; called Mimi or Mina).

Biedenfeld's wife Friederike Christiane Dahler (1767–1837) was a commoner, which the parents disliked. The couple married in 1787 and had four daughters and two sons:

  • Ferdinand (1788–1862), poet, dramaturge and publicist
  • Ernst (1793–1849), Baden officer, as regimental commander of the Revolutionary Army, executed in 1849.
