Erika Csomor (born November 8, 1973 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian long-distance runner , duathlete , triathlete , multiple national champion, European duathlon champion (2002) and duathlon world champion (2001, 2004, 2005) and multiple Ironman winner (2004, 2008) , 2012 and 2013).

Career

State champion marathon 1999

Erika Csomor has had various triumphs as a runner. In 1996, 1999 and 2000 she won the Budapest Marathon , the last two times she also secured the national title. She was also the Hungarian champion in 2000 in the 1500 meter run in 4: 23.31 min, in the half marathon in 1:12:06 h and in the hall over 3000 m in 9: 29.02 min.

In 2001 she won the marathon of Maui with her personal best of 2:39:59 hours. In September she became Duathlon World Champion on the short distance and she was able to regain this title in 2004.

In 2002 she finished sixth at the Xterra World Championship Cross Triathlon. In addition to numerous successes in the duathlon, Erika Csomor started her first long-distance triathlon in Roth in 2002 and was promptly able to place herself in second place. She was trained by Brett Sutton .

Erika Csomor reached the Powerman Zofingen in August 2006 as the first woman since Natascha Badmann (1996) to finish ahead of the men's winner.

Vice-World Champion Triathlon Long Distance 2007

At the ITU World Championships on the long-distance triathlon in Lorient , France , in 2007 she finished second behind Leanda Cave .

Although Erika Csomor July 13, 2008 at Challenge Roth h with the world best 8:47:05 by Paula Newby-Fraser undercut, this performance meant "only" personal best because Csomor at this event behind the new worlds best Yvonne van Vlerken on the came in second place. In September 2010 she became the duathlon world champion in the long distance in Zofingen for the seventh time in a row (10 km running, 150 km cycling and 30 km running). In 2011 she was third at the Duathlon World Championship held as part of the Powerman Zofingen .

In July 2012 she took her third Ironman victory in Zurich after 2004 and 2008.
After 2004, Erika Csomor was able to achieve her second victory at Ironman Austria in Klagenfurt in June 2013 and thus win her fifth Ironman race.

State champion duathlon sprint distance and triathlon long distance 2015

In April 2015 she became national champion on the duathlon sprint distance and she was able to successfully defend this title in 2016. She also became the Hungarian state champion in July 2015 at the long distance triathlon.
In June 2016 she won the Challenge Venice on the long distance in Italy . She has not appeared internationally since 2016, but has not yet announced an official resignation.

Erika Csomor lives in Százhalombatta near Budapest . She trains the triathlete Anna Eberhardt-Halász, who starts for Switzerland .
