Nicole Klingler (born June 10, 1980 in Mauren ) is a Liechtenstein volleyball player , long-distance runner , duathlete , triathlete and Ironman winner (2009).

Career

Nicole Klingler played volleyball in the youth national team for several years. In 1997 she started her first triathlon. Her brother Michael was also active as an athlete in bobsleigh - he competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics .

In 1997 she started her first triathlon and after some national and international triathlon successes in the F18-24 class, she was able to achieve second place in the overall ranking in Zurich and Sherborne in 2006 .

In September 2008 she was third at the European Championships on the long distance triathlon. In the same year she tried to qualify in the marathon for the Olympic Games in Beijing and although she set a Liechtenstein record as the winner of the Bienwald Marathon and sixth in the Prague Marathon , she just missed the limit of her association of 2:48 : 50 h.

In June 2009 she won a long-distance triathlon for the first time at Ironman Japan (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). At the end of the year she took a baby break and in August 2010 she won the European Championship for Small States in Vaduz.

After the birth of their second child, Klingler announced in June 2013 that he would start again in triathlon and running competitions from July. Her nickname is Speedy Nicole . Nicole Klingler lives in Ruggell and works as a doctor at the Inselspital Bern .
