Lake Constance marathon
The Bodensee-Marathon is a running event that takes place annually in September in Kressbronn am Bodensee , where a marathon (42.195 kilometers), a half marathon (21.097 km) and a mini half marathon (2.1 km) are held.
organization
The marathon has been held since 1973, making it one of the oldest German marathon events. The organizer is the Kressbronn gymnastics club. The 43rd edition took place from September 18-20, 2015.
stretch
Until 2001 there was a 5 km trim run (TL) instead of the MHM, and from 2010 to 2012 an 11 km walking lap was offered
In 2014 there were a marathon, a relay marathon (four runners, 8.3 / 12.8 / 8.3 / 12.8 km), a half marathon (HM) and a mini half marathon (MHM) over 2.2 km ( for children up to 15 years).
Route
Route until 2008
The route started in the center of Kressbronn and ran after the main street, through Kirchstraße, Berger Straße, the sub-towns of Kalkähre and Betznau to the hiking trail along the nature-protected Lake Constance tributary Argen to the Gießenbrücke. On the Langenargen side you walked down to the Argensteg in front of the mouth of the Lake Constance, on the other side of the river back to the Gießen bridge and back towards Lake Constance. After about two kilometers, a 10 km long loop led over field paths and the Mückle farm in the Tettnang forest , then back to the Argen and on to the Argensteg. Finally it went back to shortly after the barbecue area on the other side and via Betznau and Kalkähre to Kirchstrasse. From here via Zehntscheuerstraße, the school yard of the Nonnenbachschule , down the way to school in Hemigkofener Straße to the destination at the festival hall in Kressbronn.
Route 2009 to 2012
After the completion of the Kressbronn Seesporthalle in 2008, there was a new route from 2009: The start took place at the Bodan shipyard to the east. The field of participants returned to Bodanstrasse through Bodan, Seestrasse, Riedweg and Argenstrasse. Via Reute and Gohren we continued to the historic cable suspension bridge to the Argen . On the Kressbronn bank side, the route ran in the direction of Gießenbrücke , and on the Oberdorfer and Langenargener banks, the participants ran down towards Lake Constance . Shortly before its mouth, the Argen was crossed again via the Argensteg . From the suspension bridge through Gohren and Reute back to Bodanstrasse and through Irisstrasse to the finish line at the Seesporthalle .
The mini half marathon also started at the Bodan shipyard. The route to Irisstrasse and the finish line at the Seesporthalle ran over Bodanstrasse, Seestrasse and through Schlösslepark .
An eleven-kilometer Nordic walking route has also been offered since 2010 . It ran as described above up to the suspension bridge. There the participants crossed the Argen, walked on the Langenargen side to the Argensteg in the direction of Lake Constance and crossed the Argen again. At the Kressbronn harbor, the route led towards Schnaidt and on to Tunau . The participants reached the finish line at the Seesporthalle via Bodanstrasse and Irisstrasse .
Since 2013
Since 2013 it has started again in the center of Kressbronn. As in the years up to 2008, the route then leads over Betznau to the Argen, along the Lake Constance tributary and back to the newly built multi-purpose hall on Untermühleweg in Kressbronn. This lap must be completed once for the half marathon and twice for the marathon.
Timing
The running times of the marathon, half marathon and mini half marathon runners are recorded with transponder chips, which are issued together with the start numbers. Own ChampionChip transponders cannot be used.
