Jenny Alcorn
Jenny Alcorn (born February 11, 1959 ) is an Australian duathlete and triathlete . She is Duathlon World Champion (1992).
Career
Jenny Alcorn was active in hockey for 15 years in her youth.
In 1984, when she was 25, she started her first triathlon and was trained by Brett Sutton. In 1991 she started in Australia for the first time at the Triathlon World Championship and came second in her age group. In June 1992 the 32-year-old became ITU world champion duathlon in Frankfurt am Main . She started in 2005 as a professional athlete.
In 2009 she became vice world champion Aquathlon (2.5 km running, 1 km swimming and 2.5 km running) in the age group 50-54.
In 2014, at the age of 55, she started the Ironman distance for the first time (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and qualified as the winner of the age group for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships).
In October 2016 she won the age group 55-59 at the Ironman Hawaii. In November she became world champion cross triathlon in the 55-59 age group.
In September 2018 Jenny Alcorn was fourth at the Triathlon World Championships on the Olympic short distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running) in the 55-59 age group.
Jenny Alcorn has also worked as a coach in the Surfers Paradise Triathlon Club for many years . B. Emma Snowsill , Liz Blatchford , Luke McKenzie or Ashleigh Gentle .
