The Diocese of Novo Hamburgo ( Latin Dioecesis Novohamburgensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul .
history
Pope John Paul II founded on February 2, 1980 with the Apostolic Constitution Cum sacer praesul ecclesia the diocese from ceded territory of the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre and made it subject to this as a suffragan diocese .

The Diocese of Novo Hamburgo comprises the communities of Novo Hamburgo , Campo Bom , Canela , Dois Irmãos , Estância Velha , Gramado , Igrejinha , Ivoti , Nova Petrópolis , Rolante , São Leopoldo , Sapiranga , Taquara and Três Coroas of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
