Zeno Hastenteufel (born June 14, 1946 in Linha Rodrigues da Rosa ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Novo Hamburgo .

Life

Zeno Hastenteufel was ordained a priest on July 8, 1972 . From 1983 to 1985 he worked together with Odilo Pedro Scherer and Jacinto Bergmann as a student in Rome for a time as a holiday replacement in the parish of the Transfiguration of Christ in Bad Vilbel .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Frederico Westphalen on December 12, 2001 . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre , Dadeus Grings , donated him episcopal ordination on March 8 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Bruno Maldaner , former bishop of Frederico Westphalen, and Eduardo Benes de Sales Rodrigues , bishop of Lorena . As a motto he chose NUNTIO GAUDIUM VOBIS . The inauguration in the Diocese of Frederico Westphalen took place on March 17, 2002.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on March 28, 2007 Bishop of Novo Hamburgo .
