location

Between the Rossberg, a foothill of the Südranden and the Eichberg, a mountain of the Kleiner Randen, separated by the Wangental to Switzerland, the Hofgut Albführung lies above Dettighofen on a flat plateau.

history

According to tradition, the name Alphiren was first mentioned in a gift from Ludwig the German to the Rheinau monastery . In 1531 Andreas Metzger appears as the bearer of the inheritance, and in 1580 Veit and Thomas Metzger were sitting on the farm. In 1635, the Junkers Peyer and Oschwald von Schaffhausen sold the Albführung farm for 4800 guilders to Abbot Eberhard von Bernhausen (1613–1642), perhaps because of the hardships in the Swedish War . Abbot Gerold II. Zurlauben (1697–1735) sold the farm in 1714 to Klaus Meyer von Grießen. After that, the farm often changed hands, in 1917 the Maggi company took over the business together with three other neighboring farms and expanded it into an estate.

In 1936 it was developed by the administrators into a model dairy farm. In 1968, under the manager Hans-Dieter Krystek, there was a restructuring of dairy cattle, horses and pig breeding. Albführung now made a name for itself with horse breeding and as a boarding house and for many years was the "top cow" in milk production in the state of Baden-Württemberg . In 1975 the dairy cow "Hella" achieved an annual production of 11 179 kg milk with a fat content of 4.68% and 523 kg butter fat.

In 1989 the farm was taken over by a Swiss GmbH. Riding tournaments take place every year, the "Grand Prix of Albführung" is well known, a jumping competition , which was endowed with prize money of 25,000 euros in 2012. A country music open air takes place as an accompanying program .
