Jacinto Bergmann

Jacinto Bergmann (born October 29, 1951 in Alto Feliz , state of Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Pelotas .

Life

Jacinto Bergmann was ordained a priest on October 20, 1976 . From 1983 to 1985 he worked with Odilo Pedro Scherer and Zeno Hastenteufel as a student in Rome for a time as a holiday replacement in the parish of the Transfiguration of Christ in Bad Vilbel .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Pelotas and titular bishop of Ausuccura on May 8, 2002 . The Bishop of Pelotas, Jayme Henrique Chemello , donated him episcopal ordination on July 14th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Dadeus Grings , Archbishop of Porto Alegre , and Erwin Kräutler CPPS, Prelate of Xingu . As a motto he chose In Nomine Trinity .

On June 15, 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Tubarão . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 1, 2009 Bishop of Pelotas. With the elevation to the archbishopric on April 13, 2011, he was appointed Archbishop of Pelotas.
