Hilário Moser

Hilário Moser SDB (born December 2, 1931 in Rio dos Cedros , Santa Catarina , Brazil ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Tubarão .

Life

He made his first profession on January 31, 1949 in the religious community of the Salesians of Don Bosco . He studied philosophy at the Salesian Institute for Philosophy and Education in Lorena and Catholic theology at the Theological Institute Pius XI. in São Paulo . He was ordained a priest in São Paulo on August 15, 1958 . He specialized and received his doctorate from the Pontifical University of the Salesians . In the religious community he worked as a dogmatics professor, instructor and rector of the Theological Institute of Pius XI. in São Paulo. He was also Provincial of the São Paulo Province and Rector of the International Salesian Seminary in Rome .

On August 17, 1988 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Casae Calanae and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Carlo Furno , donated his episcopal ordination on November 20 of the same year in São Paulo. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Olinda and Recife, José Cardoso Sobrinho OCarm , and the Archbishop of Mariana , Luciano Pedro Mendes de Almeida . His motto is Iuxta Matrem .

On May 27, 1992, he was appointed Bishop of Tubarão . Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation on June 15, 2004.
