The Diocese of Tubarão ( Latin Dioecesis Tubaraoënsis , Portuguese Diocese de Tubarão ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Tubarão in the state of Santa Catarina .

history

The Diocese of Tubarão was on December 28, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Viget ubique from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Florianópolis and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On May 27, 1998, the Diocese of Tubarão gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Criciúma .
