Petra Eggenschwiler (born January 4, 1988 in Laupersdorf ) is a Swiss mountain and long-distance runner and duathlete . She is the Swiss Duathlon Champion (2016) and the Duathlon Long Distance World Champion (2018).
Career
In September 2013, 25-year-old Petra Eggenschwiler came sixth at the Duathlon World Championship on the long distance. She was able to repeat this success in 2014 and again in 2015. Petra Eggenschwiler is trained by Hansruedi Mägli.
Swiss Champion Duathlon 2016
In April 2016 she became Swiss Duathlon Champion, after finishing second behind Martina Krähenbühl the previous year .
In June 2018 she was third at the Swiss Mountain Running Championships. At Powerman Zofingen , the 30-year-old became ITU world champion in the long distance duathlon in September.
Petra Eggenschwiler studies geology at the University of Bern and lives in Laupersdorf.
