Maddy Tormoen (born December 29, 1961 in Cook County ) is a former American duathlete and two-time world champion in the long distance duathlon (1993, 1995).

Career

1993 and Maddy Tormoen became Duathlon World Champion on the long distance duathlon at Powerman Zofingen in Switzerland. The following year she became vice world champion and in 1995 she was able to secure the title for the second time. With the prize money of 50,000 US dollars, she secured the highest amount paid out to date.

Unlike almost all of her fellow campaigners, Tormoen never competed in the triathlon during her active time, as she described herself as a weak swimmer.

She lives in Colorado Springs .
