Leon Pauger (born December 4, 1998 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian triathlete and current vice national champion on the short distance triathlon (2020).

Career

In 2014 he became the junior state champion in the cross-triathlon at the X-Triathlon Berndorf near Salzburg.

In the 2017 season, Leon Pauger and the Austrian team ( Therese Feuersinger , Magdalena Früh , Pia Totschnig , Lukas Gstaltner and Philip Pertl ) won the European junior nation ranking with a total of eight podium places in ten races from April to October, ahead of Hungary and France decide. Leon Pauger attended the Dornbirn sports high school, which he graduated in 2018.

Leon Pauger starts for the Tri Dornbirn club and has been part of the perspective squad of the Austrian Triathlon Association (ÖTRV) since 2018 . In May 2019, the then 20-year-old became Vice State Champion on the triathlon sprint distance (750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running) at the Klosterneuburg Triathlon .

On July 12, 2020, he won the Gmunden Triathlon on the sprint distance, the first competition of the year, after many of the planned races had to be canceled as part of the COVID-19 pandemic . In August he became vice national champion in the short distance triathlon. He is trained by Ralf Schmiedeke.
