François Chabaud (born September 5, 1971 ) is a former French triathlete . He is the Ironman winner (2002) and is included in the best list of French triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Chabaud comes from Provence and started triathlon at the age of 15. He was mainly active in long distance competitions and repeatedly distinguished himself as a particularly strong cyclist.

In 2002 he won the gold medal at the first edition of Ironman France and in October he was sixth at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships).

In 2008 he finished second and in August 2010 in Immenstadt third at the Triathlon World Championship on the long distance (4 km swimming, 130 km cycling and 30 km running).

François Chabaud ended his active career in 2013.
