Peyrolles-en-Provence is a French commune with 5,105 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region .

geography

The municipality is located between Aix-en-Provence, 20 kilometers away, and Manosque, 30 kilometers away . Neighboring municipalities are Jouques , Pertuis , Meyrargues and Saint-Paul-lès-Durance . Peyrolles-en-Provence lies on the Durance .

history

A small castle was built in the 12th century. It belonged to the French king from the 15th to the 17th century. In the 17th century a new owner gave it its current appearance. The castle finally passed to the community, which settled the Mairie and various schools here .
