Pélissanne is a French municipality with 10,344 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

Pélissanne is five kilometers east of Salon-de-Provence and 25 kilometers northwest of Aix-en-Provence .
history
Today's place was settled 6000 years ago. So-called oppida emerged later . In Roman times, Pélissanne was an important crossroads. Among other things, a canal ran here that connected the town with the large Roman cities. Agriculture flourished here in the 16th century with the construction of a new canal. Watermills were built. In the period that followed, Pélissanne became a place for the rich, many houses from that time, the 17th and 18th centuries, are still standing today.

Transport links
The driveway to the Autoroute du Soleil is only about one kilometer from the village . There you can also drive onto the A54. A canal still flows between Pélissanne and Salon-de-Provence today.
