history
The name part of Sainte-Réparade probably goes back to Saint Reparata , whose relics passed into the possession of the local church in the 11th century. A castle was built in the 10th century on the hill of Le Puech , where the Celtic oppidum La Quille used to be . This hill is responsible for the part of the name Le Puy . In the 11th century it came into the hands of the Archbishops of Aix-en-Provence . Therefore they also became masters of the place. At that time the place was only a few scattered houses on the hills, and some people lived in caves. The existence of a ferry across the Durance is documented for the year 1297. Around 1510 the village fell victim to the plague and wars of religion. After the wars of religion, part of the population moved down into the plain. In 1612 it was decided to destroy the castle. After the castle was destroyed, people moved down to a plateau where the parish church was later built. This is where today's village is located. In 1880 the place was connected to the railway.
