Velaux is located 20 kilometers west of Aix-en-Provence , 17 kilometers south of Salon-de-Provence and 35 kilometers northwest of Marseille in the valley of the River Arc .

Velaux is in the immediate vicinity of the junction of the A8 and A7 ( Autoroute du Soleil ). It is on the Rognac- Aix railway line . However, the station is no longer in operation.
