Coudoux is a French municipality with 3765 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .
geography
Coudoux is 17 kilometers west of Aix-en-Provence and 13 kilometers south of Salon-de-Provence in the valley of the River Arc . Neighboring towns are Ventabren , La Fare-les-Oliviers , Velaux and Lançon-Provence .
history
The presence of the Ligurians , Greeks, Romans and Salluvians has been proven by excavations .
The hamlets of Petit Coudoux and Grand Coudoux emerged in the 16th century as districts of Ventabren. The first families moved into the village and gradually more and more followed, despite the remoteness from the main village of Ventabren. Finally, in 1946, the parish council agreed to spin off Coudoux. By decree of March 20, 1950, the Prefect confirmed the division of the municipality.
