Rahel Küng (born March 27, 1991 in Bütschwil ) is a former Swiss triathlete and long-distance swimmer . She is Swiss champion in open water swimming over 5,000 m (2009) and two-time Swiss champion in the triathlon short distance (2010 juniors, 2013 elite).

Career

Rahel Küng was active in swimming in her youth. She was also able to qualify for the European Youth Championships in open water swimming , where she became Swiss champion over 5 km in 2009. In 2008 she switched to triathlon. Her older brother Manuel Küng (* 1987) is also active as a triathlete.

In August 2010 she took first place among the juniors at the Swiss Triathlon Championships in Nyon.

Swiss Triathlon Champion 2013

In August 2013, Küng became Swiss triathlon champion on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). Rahel Küng started for the EWZ Power Team and she trained together with Céline Schärer .

In October 2013 she broke her thigh while training. Since 2014 she has not appeared in international racing events.

Private

In June 2015 she graduated as a medical secretary from the Bénédict school in St. Gallen .
