Güldal Mumcu

Güldal Mumcu (born September 20, 1951 in Denizli ) is a member of the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi of the Turkish parliament for the constituency of Izmir. Her full name is Şükran Güldal Mumcu, her maiden name is Homan. She graduated from TED Ankara Koleji and studied business administration at Ankara University . Between 1975 and 1979 she worked as a project manager for the then state investment bank Devlet Yatırım Bankası (today: Türkiye İhracat Kredi Bankası A.Ş. ). In 1976 she married the publicist Uğur Mumcu , who was later to be killed in a bomb attack before her eyes. The couple had two children. Well-known columnist Ahmet Hakan described Güldal Mumcu as stubborn and sincere.

Güldal Mumcu has been a Member of the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi and Deputy Speaker of Parliament since 2007.
