Sibylle Matter (born September 2, 1973 in Plaffeien ) is a former Swiss triathlete , Olympian (2000) and European cross-triathlon champion (2008). She is in seventh place on the list of Swiss women triathletes on the Ironman distance . (As of December 2018)

Career

Olympic Games 2000

Sibylle Matter started in 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney, finishing in 36th place. In 2003 she became Swiss triathlon champion in Nyon.

In 2001 and again in 2004 she won the UK Ironman 70.3 in the middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) in Great Britain .

Vice world champion cross triathlon 2005

In 2005, she was runner-up in cross triathlon in Hawaii. In October 2006 she won the "Hawaiian Airlines Double" - the combined ranking of Ironman Hawaii and the Xterra World Championships . In April 2007 she was runner-up European cross-triathlon champion in Spain and she was able to repeat this success in 2008 and 2009.

In 2008 the trained doctor was able to win the “Hawaiian Airlines Double” again. She won the Ironman in Zurich in 2008 and 2009 .

Their daughter was born in April 2013 and she was on maternity leave. Sibylle Matter returned to racing and won the cross-triathlon in Biel in June 2015 as part of the “Biennathlon”.
