Renata Bucher (born May 30, 1977 in Lucerne ) is a former Swiss triathlete and three-time European champion in the cross-triathlon (2009, 2011, 2015).

Career

In 2003 Renata Bucher started at the cross-country world championships on the short distance (4.03 km).

In Australia Renata Bucher met cross triathlon in 2004 and in 2005 she finished fourth at the World Championships. In the following year she reached fifth place in the cross triathlon.

In 2006 and 2007 she came second at the Swiss Mountain Bike Championships in Cross Country . In 2007 she won the Lucerne Marathon in October .

In 2009 and again in 2011 Renata Bucher became European champion in cross triathlon.

In June 2014 Renata Bucher became Vice-European Cross-Triathlon Champion in Sardinia.

In July 2015 she became European Cross Triathlon Champion for the third time and Xterra Vice European Champion in England in September.

Renata Bucher finished tenth at the ITU World Cross Triathlon Championship in November 2016. In 2016, the then 40-year-old declared her active time over.

Renata Bucher was a member of the Swiss Triathlon Multisport Team. She lives in Littau and has been responsible for the Swiss cross-triathlon team since February 2017.

In April 2017, she was able to win the first Xterra Phuket .
