Emma-Kate Lidbury (born February 19, 1980 ) is a British triathlete . She is Ironman 70.3 winner (2011, 2012) and is included in the best list of British triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Emma-Kate Lidbury attended Loughborough University and started her first triathlon in 2005. In May 2008 she became European champion in Spain and four weeks later in Vancouver also triathlon vice world champion for amateurs in the age group of 25-29 year olds.

The former journalist has been a professional athlete since 2009 and mainly competes in the middle distance.

At her first start in an Ironman race, she finished second in Mallorca in September 2015 (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

She is trained by Dan Bullock (swimming), Mike Antoniades and Mark Stenning . In June 2018 she was eleventh at the Ironman Boulder .

Emma-Kate Lidbury lives in Oxford with her partner .
