Stephen James Bayliss (born March 5, 1979 in Croydon ) is a former British triathlete and multiple winner of competitions over the Ironman distance.

Career

Stephen Bayliss was third in the 2005 European Triathlon Championships on the long distance and in June 2007 he was able to repeat this success. He was voted Triathlete of the Year 2008 in the UK.

Ironman 2008 winner

The professional athlete was able to win the Ironman South Africa in April 2008 on the long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and in September of the same year also the Ironman UK in Sherborne.

Until 2010 he started in Team TBB and he was trained by Brett Sutton .

In March 2017 he won the middle distance on the Canary Island of Lanzarote (2 km swimming, 85 km cycling and 20 km running).

Stephen Bayliss has been married to the Scottish former triathlete Bella Bayliss (previously Bella Comerford ; resigned in 2013) since November 2008 and they both live in Leysin, Switzerland .

Stephen Bayliss has not appeared internationally since 2017.
