The Ironman Muskoka is a former August triathlon sporting event over the Ironman distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km bike, 42.195 km run) in Muskoka , Ontario Province , Canada .
organization
This event was organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC). The first Ironman took place here on August 30, 2015. Amateurs were able to qualify for 50 starting places for the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships).
A qualification for professionals was never possible in Muskoka and no prize money was advertised in Muskoka.
Route
- The swimming course led over a lap through the Pennisula lake. The starting point is the beach at Deerhurst Resort. The transition area was 300 meters away in the resort parking lot.
- The 180 km two-lap bike course ran through the Dwight, Dorset and Baysville area.
- The running course also included two laps and led along the Fairy Lake. The starting point of the marathon was the Deerhurst Resort .
Forty qualification places were planned for the second edition in 2016. The 2016 race was canceled and no further extension was announced. So it was a one-time event.
