The Ironman Lake Tahoe is a former triathlon -Sportveranstaltung about the Ironman as distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) at Lake Tahoe on the border of the US -Bundesstaaten Nevada and California .

This race was organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), the first edition was here on September 22nd, 2013 and about 2600 athletes were expected at the start.

Every year, Ironman Lake Tahoe offered 50 starting places in different age groups for the World Championship at Ironman Hawaii in Kailua-Kona (Ironman World Championships).

The race was one of the most difficult Ironman races and the track record was set by US American Chris McDonald with 8:55:14 hours at the first edition in 2013 .

The 2014 race had to be canceled due to poor air quality after fires in the region.

In 2015 this race was held as a pure age grouper competition without professionals and no extension was announced for 2016.
