Mathias Hecht (born May 26, 1980 in Willisau ) is a former Swiss triathlete and Ironman winner (2011). He is included in the list of Swiss triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Mathias Hecht has been running triathlons since 1997.

Ironman distance since 2005

In October 2008 he finished eighth in the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships).

He was a member of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team until 2011 and started for Team TBB in 2012 and 2013 , where he was trained by Brett Sutton . He has been working for TREK (Trek Factory Tri Team) since 2014 .

His nickname is "Pikey". Mathias Hecht started for the Swiss national team for 16 years. In May 2011 he won the Ironman distance for the first time.

Mathias Hecht is active as a coach and trainer. He has been married to his long-term partner, the former triathlete Nicole Hofer (* 1986), since August 2016, and they both live in Willisau .
