Zarautz [ sa'ɾauts ] (Basque, Spanish Zarauz [ θa'ɾauθ ]) is a city in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country . It is located around 20 km west of Donostia-San Sebastián on the Bay of Biscay and has 23,323 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019).
The 2.5 km long and 80 m wide beach is popular with surfers and other water sports enthusiasts.
