Cardano al Campo is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Varese in the Lombardy region .

geography

The municipality is located about 20 kilometers south-southwest of Varese and about 24 kilometers northeast of Novara . From the center of Milan it is about 40 kilometers to the northwest. The municipality borders the Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino and covered an area of ​​9.83  km² . The Cuoricino fraction belongs to Cardano al Campo . The Ticino flows west of the municipality. The neighboring communities are Casorate Sempione , Gallarate , Samarate and Somma Lombardo .

Economy and Transport

State road 336 runs through the municipality from Somma Lombardo to the A8 autostrada . The nearest train station is in Gallarate (1.5 kilometers northeast) on the Domodossola – Milan line and the Laveno – Gallarate and Varese – Gallarate lines. The Milan Malpensa Airport is immediately west to the community.
