Casalzuigno is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Varese in the Lombardy region . It belongs to the Comunità montana Valli del Verbano .

geography

The 7.29  km² community consists of the merged villages of Casale and Zuigno and the Arcumeggia fraction . The village of Casalzuigno is located in Valcuvia at 350  m slm on the south- eastern slope of Monte Nudo around 100 meters above the bottom of the Boesio river . Arcumeggia is located slightly above at 567  m slm in the valley of the Marianna torrent at the foot of Monte Rossel , a secondary peak of Monte della Colonna . The provincial capital Varese is around 13.5 kilometers southeast, Lake Maggiore around 5.5 kilometers northwest of Casalzuigno.

The neighboring municipalities are Azzio , Brenta , Castelveccana , Cuveglio , Cuvio , Duno and Porto Valtravaglia .
