Besozzo is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Varese in the Lombardy region .

geography

The municipality is located about 13 kilometers west-northwest of Varese between Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese . Besozzo borders directly on the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola . The Bardello flows through the village and flows into Lake Maggiore. Besozzo covers an area of ​​13.52  km² . Besozzo includes the Bogno, Olginasio and Cardana factions. The neighboring municipalities are Bardello , Belgirate (VB), Brebbia , Caravate , Cocquio-Trevisago , Gavirate , Gemonio , Leggiuno , Malgesso , Monvalle and Sangiano .
