Porto Valtravaglia is located on the east bank of Lake Maggiore , between Luino and Laveno and covers an area of ​​around 15 km². The fractions Ligurno, Muceno, Musadino, San Michele, Cascina Profarè, Cascina Bassa, Monte Pian Nave, Monte della Colonna, Monte Ganna, Domo, Torre and Casa Piano Croce belong to Porto Valtravaglia. The neighboring communities are Brezzo di Bedero , Brissago-Valtravaglia , Casalzuigno , Castelveccana , Duno , Ghiffa (VB) and Oggebbio (VB)

history
