Casale Litta is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Varese in the Lombardy region .

geography

The municipality is located about 8.5 kilometers southwest of Varese and covers an area of ​​10.66  km² . Casale Litta includes the Bernate , Tordera , Gaggio , San Pancrazio , Villadosia and Bosco Grande fractions . The neighboring municipalities are: Bodio Lomnago , Crosio della Valle , Daverio , Inarzo , Mornago , Varano Borghi and Vergiate .

history

In the 12th century a small settlement near the present-day district of Tordera was mentioned as "Cassate". In the 13th century, the municipality was owned by Milan and in 1395 part of the emerging Duchy of Milan .
