The municipality is located about 4.5 kilometers southwest of Varese on Lake Varese and covers an area of ​​4.72  km² . Azzate includes the Castello , Erbamolle , Vegonno , Rione La Prussia and Roncasnino fractions . The neighboring municipalities are: Brunello , Buguggiate , Crosio della Valle , Daverio , Galliate Lombardo , Sumirago and Varese.
