Cassano Magnago is located 20 km south of Varese on the Torrente Arno and covers an area of 12 km² . The neighboring municipalities are Busto Arsizio , Cairate , Carnago , Cavaria con Premezzo , Fagnano Olona , Gallarate and Oggiona con Santo Stefano . The place forms a unit with the neighboring town of Gallarate.
The community has a motorway connection to the A8 via the Gallarate junction. The Milan Malpensa Airport is about 8 km west of the city. The residents work in industry and at the nearby Milan Malpensa Airport.
