The Boesio is an approximately 12 kilometer long tributary of Lake Maggiore in the Italian province of Varese , Lombardy . The state road 394 partly follows the course. Trout fish and carp fish live in Boesio . The river's water is polluted.

The Boesio arises at 270 m slm near Cuveglio and only a little northwest of Cuvio through the confluence of Canale Boesio Nuovo and Canale Nuovo . The river flows through the Valcuvia from east to west, passing through the municipalities of Casalzuigno , Azzio , Brenta , Gemonio and Cittiglio . At Laveno-Mombello the Boesio flows into the east bank of Lake Maggiore at 193 m slm .
