Stigliano is a municipality in the province of Matera in the Italian region of Basilicata .

Stigliano has 3914 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The place is 80 km southwest of Matera . The neighboring communities are Accettura , Aliano , Cirigliano , Craco , Gorgoglione , Montalbano Jonico , San Mauro Forte , Sant'Arcangelo ( PZ ) and Tursi .

The year of foundation of the place is unknown. In 1664 the place was destroyed by an earthquake, but it was rebuilt immediately afterwards.

The church of Sant'Antonio from the 15th to 17th centuries is worth seeing in Stigliano.
