Mikel Aguirrezabalaga García (born April 8, 1984 in Zarautz ) is a Spanish handball player . He is the older brother of Alberto Aguirrezabalaga .

The 1.90 meter tall and 91 kilogram left backcourt player was under contract with FC Barcelona until 2013 , with whom he won the championship in 2012 and 2013. He previously played for Ademar León . With these clubs he played in the EHF Cup (2002/2003) and in the EHF Champions League (2003/04, 2007/08, 2008/09).

In the summer of 2013 he signed a contract with the Belarusian club HC Dinamo Minsk . On January 30, 2014, he moved to the German Bundesliga club ThSV Eisenach on a free transfer . There he received a contract until the end of the 2013/2014 season. He then returned to Ademar León. Has played for the Basque first division club Helvetia Anaitasuna since 2016 .

Mikel Aguirrezabalaga has been on the Spanish national team more than 25 times , for example for the 2010 European Handball Championship and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
