Alberto Aguirrezabalaga García (born December 1, 1988 in Zarautz ) is a Spanish handball player .
Career
Alberto Aguirrezabalaga, like his older brother Mikel (* 1984), began playing handball on his home CD Zarautz. In 2005/06 the right winger was in the squad of Spanish first division club Ademar León . He then signed with the top club BM Ciudad Real , with whom he became Spanish champion and league cup winner in 2007 . Internationally, he made his debut on 30 September 2006, reaching the Royal quarter-final in the EHF Champions League . In order to get match practice, the left-hander moved to CB Ciudad de Logroño in 2007 , where he ran the next two seasons. He then went to SDC San Antonio , with whom he reached the semi-finals of the 2009/10 and 2010/11 European Cup Winners' Cup . Due to the financial problems in Pamplona, he went to Slovenia with his girlfriend Carmen Martín (handball player) ; he to RK Trimo Trebnje and she to RK Krim Merkatur Ljubljana . Since 2013 he has been running for the Hungarian club Csurgói KK .
Alberto Aguirrezabalaga is the record player and scorer of the Spanish junior national team with 212 goals in 65 games. For the Spanish men's national handball team , Aguirrezabalaga has played five international matches so far , scoring 16 goals.
