The RK Trimo Trebnje is a handball club from Slovenia . He plays in the first Slovenian handball league .
history
The RK Trimo Trebnje was founded on June 17, 1983. The reason for the foundation of the association was the construction of a new hall in the elementary school of Trebnje, which gave the association the opportunity to practice sports. After the club received its first sponsor in 1985 through Great Loke , a factory that makes seals , it was able to set higher goals.
After the 1994/95 season, the RK Trimo Trebnje was able to qualify for the Slovenian handball league. In 1997 the municipality of Trebnje became the main sponsor of the handball club, which is why the club name was changed to "RK Trebnje". Immediately afterwards, the first high point in the club's history followed with third place in the domestic championship.
In the 1998/99 season, the RK Trimo Trebnje was allowed to take part in the Euro City Cup for the first time . After a 60:36 overall success over the Dutch club Hirschmann V&L , the game ended in the round of 16 against SG Flensburg-Handewitt with 44:60. In 1999/00 Trebnje was able to qualify again for the Euro City Cup. After the 69:62 against IL Runar Sandefjord ( Norway ) came in the quarterfinals with 50:58 against RK Sintelon.
In 2000 , a contract as the new main sponsor was concluded with Trimo dd , an international company for steel and architectural buildings based in Trebnje. Internationally, the RK Trimo Trebnje was able to participate in the EHF Cup for the first time in the 2000/01 season , but had to retire against TBV Lemgo with a total score of 45:59 in the third round. In 2002/03 Trebnje again took part in the EHF Cup and was eliminated in round two with 58:64 against ASKI Ankara ( Turkey ). 2006/07 Trebnje was able to take part in the EHF Cup again. After a 63: 58 victory against the Croatian team RK Perutnina Pipo IPC Čakovec came in the round of 16 against Paris Handball with 50:57. In the 2007/08 season, the RK Trimo Trebnje took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup for the first time and had to retire in the second round against PLER-Airport KC ( Hungary ) with an overall result of 54:55. In the 2008/09 season Trebnje had to retire in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the second round against RK Konjuh-namjestaj Zivinice ( Belarus ) with 49:51.
In the 2009/10 season, the RK Trimo Trebnje entered the EHF Cup again. In the third round, the Romanian team UCM Sport Resita was eliminated after two legs with 62:60. The next opponent was the Spanish club CAI BM. Aragon , who lost after a 35:26 home win in the second leg 23:34 and was eliminated.
