Staš Skube (born November 15, 1989 in Novo mesto , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian handball player . Like his older brother Sebastian, Skube is mostly used in the middle of the backcourt .

Career

The 1.76 m tall and 79 kg heavy right-handed player began playing handball in 2000 at the Slovenian club RK Trimo Trebnje . There he was in the first team from 2006. He has been playing for RK Gorenje Velenje since 2013 . In the EHF Champions League 2013/14 he was one of the top scorers of the competition with 53 goals. In the summer of 2016 he joined the Hungarian first division team Pick Szeged . With Szeged he won the Hungarian championship in 2018. He then moved to the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje . With Vardar he won the North Macedonian Championship and the EHF Champions League in 2019. From the 2020/21 season he is under contract with the Belarusian first division club Brest GK Meschkow .

Staš Skube won bronze with the Slovenian junior selection at the U-21 World Cup in 2009.

He is also part of the Slovenian national team . So far he has played 17 international matches in which he scored 32 goals.
